It seems a while ago now, but last September I spent a weekend trundling around Argyll. The light on the Saturday morning was absolutely beautiful – so I spent a happy couple of hours standing on the shores of Loch Awe admiring the sunlight and mist on Ben Cruachan and Kilchurn Castle, as one does.

as dusk turns to dark
I haven’t been around this area for a few years, but happened to be passing through Kenmore as dusk gave way to outright dark.
Mist rising on Ben Lawers in the distance:
Update: this image has been well received, so I’ve made it available for sale via my landscape photography site.
Forth Railway Bridge
A friend of mine has regularly suggested that someone seems to dot road-signs saying “Take Photo Here” around the landscape. The view of the Forth Road Bridge from South Queensferry is one location where such a sign would not be out of place, but still, heading home from Edinburgh late one afternoon, it had to be done.
…and send it soaring…
I can think of much worse ways to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than flying a kite with friends.
Impressions of Summer
White clouds in blue skies; grass blowing around in warm sunlight; horses that amble across their field to come and say hello as one passes by the roadside.
Deep
No more sun, no more wind.
Only a strange feeling
leaving without moving
I’ll try another world
and the sky slowly fades in my mind
just like a memory.

Over the Water
Sun, Sea and Sky
I never used to understand the appeal of going to the beach. I still don’t, but I do appreciate the simplicity and stillness of gazing out to sea from the coast instead.

This spray of Cirrus uncinus cloud formation caught my eye…

Infinity
Well, for small values of infinity, anyway. Can’t beat a brisk roadside walk with the dog in such sunny weather as this 🙂
