We saw our first live red squirrels since moving down to Galloway yesterday, running around the branches of this tree.
We discovered a plum tree hiding at the back of the garden just in time to taste some of the fruit at optimal ripeness. And it tasted good.. better than anything in a supermarket, for sure.

There are several notable trees in the local woods – some for the slightly warped trunk shapes, but I like this one for the exuberant yet slightly spooky angles it throws its branches at.
