Birnam Hill: Details
A handful more photos from an afternoon stroll around Birnam Hill – little things that caught my eye. There was a small burn flowing down one of the paths, mostly covered in amazing semi-fractured ice crystals; patterns abound.

About 15 minutes into the regular walk route – large red (spiky!) berries, birch and willow trees spreading their branches, and two collapsing fence-posts – a pleasantly futile gesture of keeping nature at bay.
A fence obstructing the entrance to a walk through the woods; the local estate seems to be shutting down for winter.
Can’t beat a jumble of angles, a clutter of leaves and evidence of the species’ imposition on the landscape (the trees are also obviously planted).
